Krystle Moore

Landscape and cloudscape oil painter

I am Krystle Moore, a Caledon, Ontario artist working in oils and watercolours. My work focuses on feelings of intimacy and mood within the landscape, and the emotion contained within the clouds. I am inspired by local landscapes and the beauty of everyday life, and I hope my work reflects that. I love painting both moody and hopeful skies, and often stop on the side of the road to take photos for painting. My background is in the arts: I have a BA in Visual Arts (York University, 2004) and a Master’s in Art History, (Western University, 2008.) I worked for some time in the curatorial department of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, which influenced my artistic practice in some ways. I have recently returned to painting (last year) after a lengthy hiatus from painting due to health reasons. I have such deep gratitude for my vision and ability to paint again, after a tumour compressed my optic nerve and I lost my vision for some time. (My vision was restored after brain surgery.) It is truly a privilege to paint work for your home or personal space. The life that a painting can bring to a room is so needed, especially during these times. I have such deep respect for the arts in general, and for the comfort, intimacy, and beauty that a painting can bring to a living space. Thanks so much for supporting emerging and local artists, and for checking out the work on this site.
