Kim Gervais is from British Columbia. Currently she lives in Harrison Hot Springs. Kim has been creating art for over twenty years, acquiring skills and knowledge through her efforts without formal instruction. Retiring in 2020, she now maintains a full time art practice that includes commissioned work and exhibiting on digital forums. Kim paints in acrylic on canvas or paper, enjoying the versatility and boldness it affords. She loves colour, texture and movement which is reflected in her work.
I paint intuitively using my love of organic forms, texture and with colour that is not always true to life. My aim is to capture the imagination of the viewer, perhaps encouraging them to see what we are honoured to have in this world and want to preserve it. I would like my art to bring an awareness of the beautiful things around us, the things that are often “hiding in plain sight “.
