When Bob Hendriks was in high school in the Netherlands, his art project was to draw a bird. That bird, who turned out to be quite abstract and on the fat side, was the young artist’s first step on his painting journey. Encouraged by his teacher and discouraged by his more practical parents, Bob followed an al- ternate career path, but never lost his passion for a blank canvas. Arriving in Canada in 2001, his talents as an accomplished commercial photographer and graphic designer put him in high demand as a creative director and ultimately led to publishing and as the editor of art books. Bob’s love for experimenting with textures and tools fuels his imagination, creating the energy found in his deeply personal and vibrant pieces. Bob Hendriks’ works are part of private and corporate collections in Switzerland, San Francisco, the Netherlands and Montreal.
