How to save money on art supplies

We know that, as artists, a trip to the art supply shop can be pricey. If you want to spend less on painting supplies but don't know where to begin, this article is for you.

Reuse materials: Recycled art gives materials a new purpose. This is an efficient way to produce work, as recycled materials are eco-friendly, inexpensive, and widely accessible.

Tube wringer: A tube wringer helps you squeeze out every last bit of paint out of the paint tube. This will help you waste less, feel less frustrated, and save money. Get a metal tube wringer or a plastic one with metal rollers. A lot of tube wringers are expensive, but you can find plenty of shops that offer reduced prices, like at Jackson’s Art.

Discounts and coupons: Look for coupons and discounts online. Many companies will tell you about upcoming sales and product releases when you give them your contact information.Companies also sell specialized items and frequently provide bloggers and influencers with discount coupons to share with their audiences. It is also beneficial to join the email list of an art store as you often get a coupon code just for signing up!

Create a home studio: Although renting a studio is expensive, there are (fortunately) less expensive options. A home studio is by far the cheapest studio location. Find a large area to use as your studio, and all you need is an easel, lights, and your painting equipment.

Get a paint brush cleaner: Cleaning your paint brushes with soap and water is great, but if you want a more thorough scrub, get a paint brush cleaner. It can remove some of the staining from the bristles and breaks down acrylic paint. Here are some paint brush cleaners on Amazon.

Alternative canvases: In addition to being a great method to save money on painting supplies, using different canvases to paint on lets you express your creativity more fully. You can paint on cardboard, wood, rocks, metal, glass, paper, and vinyl.
