Phulkari is made up of two words - Phul meaning flower & Kari meaning craftsmanship . Hence, Phulkari is the traditional hand embroidery of Punjab, India . The colors used are vibrant. The stitch used is primarily Satin stitch or filling stitch , where the geometric design is completely filled with thread. This painting is my depiction of one the very popular embroideries of India !
