Description

I found this rockscape at Les Chutes-de-la-Chaudiere (waterfalls) near Quebec city which drain into the Saint Lawrence River. The landscape was formed around 480 million years ago during the creation of the Appalachians and was under water before that! The forces during the creation of the mountains forced the rocks into a 30-45 degree angle. As I was taking pictures of the waterfalls themselves, I saw these magnificent rocks sticking out of the ground to the right of me. It was late during the day and the light of the sky reflected amazing purple and blue tones off of them. The scene itself naturally makes an almost perfect composition that just mesmerizes me every time I look at it! Loose canvas painting ready for stretching and framing. Delivered in sturdy cardboard tube.
