I created this wall relief carving in a nice slab of cherry wood that already had some fine lines of decay inside, that reminded me to a tree in an instant. By using hand carving techniques I carved a tree like lines into the wood slab to my liking and I left it as is, the slab still showing a bit from the saw pattern that came in when cutting the slab to a thinner board.
