This is an oil painting of a friend of mine. When he came to visit my studio we decided to take some pictures. Halfway through the process I handed him this yellow ballon with a smiley face on it. He didn't know what to do with it (neither did I). Eventually he just held on to the balloon by the lip and stared aimlessly. The result was that of an introspective and profound pose.
